Fria Gluten Free

There's a Swedish company called Fria that produce some awesome gluten free treats and now they're available in Ireland.

This company is a family-owned bakery that has recently expanded its markets. I got to taste two of their products and believe me they are amazingly tasty.

The goods all come frozen, so just pop them in the freezer at home and defrost at room temperature when you know people are coming over. It surprised me how well they defrosted.

I tried two products. The first is the chocolate cake. I brought it down to my parents house when my brother was visiting for dessert and it lasted exactly one night in the house, as you can tell from the photo! I didn't even get a photo of the tin half eaten before it vanished. If I hadn't of said to anyone that it was gluten free, no one would have noticed. The cake was rich in chocolatey goodness and moist, oh so moist. It was just like it had come out of the oven and cooled.

The second product we tested out was this apple and cinnamon muffin. After we defrosted these, we heated them up a little. Word of warning, don't heat them too much because the apple bits get really hot! Other than that the muffins had a lovely coat of cinnamon complimentary to the apple with a light and fluffy texture.

They don't just do sweet things. The product range also includes breads, pizza, burger buns, and pastries.
